Health food batch number is related to the detection of most of the western medicine ingredients
Recently, the inspectors of the Taizhou Municipal Market Supervision Bureau purchased all suspicious health care products being sold in the store from an online store in the name of consumers. After verification, it was found that the approval number on the packaging of these goods was false, and the factory name on the package could not be matched.
In order to further analyze and verify, the inspectors sent the batch of goods to professional testing institutions for further testing and analysis. Among the 19 samples tested, 14 samples were detected to contain western medicine ingredients, 8 of which were found to contain phenformin hydrochloride, and 6 samples were also found to contain glibenclamide. And two chemical components of metformin hydrochloride.
Both phenformin hydrochloride and glibenclamide are prescription drugs that inhibit moderate type 2 diabetes and have a certain insulin secretion function. These health foods, which claim to have hypoglycemic effects, are not only found to contain Western medicine ingredients, but also use the fake “National Food and Health” health food number.
Each bottle of glibenclamide has a hundred small tablets, each of which is only 2.5 mg. The instructions for use indicate that normal patients can only take one tablet a day. If it is a mild condition, only half a tablet can be taken per day.
According to the inspectors, through the production and processing of the entire counterfeit products, it is known that the biggest risk faced by consumers is the uneven amount of drugs added to these health foods, which may lead to high lactateemia in consumers. Or lactic acidosis, severe cases of liver and kidney metabolic dysfunction, and even sudden death.
